Recently I acquired a Zeiss Otus 85mm, which is perfect for conducting an experiment to resolve a long-standing question I've kept to myself : What will happens if we shoot film with top-tier modern lens?
For most people familiar with photography, the first thing that comes to mind are those new generation beasts with technically sharper and higher contrast will out resolve every films.
And most people would conclude from this simple argument that using modern lenses on film is pointless.
But we also know that photography isn't just about sharpness and contrast. Color reproduction, beautiful bokeh & rendering - use equipment to achieve the desired effect you want also matters. (If you're just a keyboard warrior, you might have a different opinion.)
Thanks to Dan's generous contribution, now I have the opportunity to do this interesting experiment.
The plan is to shoot different subjects using existing common film stock, without adding any commentary.
Only photos. The rest is left to your imagination.
Also, I only upload “enlarged” photos. Because I believe that only through traditional enlargement can one truly experience the beauty of film.
